What is Reiki?
The word REIKI comes from two Japanese words, REI and KI. REI translates to "universal" or “guided”, and KI translates to “life force energy”, which flows through all living things. It was originally developed in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui in 1922.
Reiki works on the understanding that once the body is energetically balanced - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually - it will become empowered to heal itself.
A Reiki Practitioner channels this energy to a recipient. The energy does not come from the practitioner. The practitioner's job is to simply facilitate in delivering this healing energy to the recipient, while the recipient receives the healing where they need it.
Reiki is not a religion, it is not painful and it can never cause harm. It is a safe and natural healing method that virtually anyone can learn and benefit from. It promotes the balance and healing of the entire being. And because there is an unlimited supply of this life force energy, we all have the opportunity to utilize Reiki to its fullest extent to promote happier, healthier lives.
